140 HP JOHN DEERE ENGINE, AUTO FEED, LIFT CYLINDER
Pound for pound and dollar for dollar, you will not find a more appealing 12 inch capacity disc-style chipper than the Model 250XP. This machine is the largest 12 inch capacity chipper offered from Bandit and is the ultimate unit for companies looking for a highly productive, yet compact all-around chipper. The 250XP features a large 12.5 x 19 inch chipper throat opening and a 64 inch wide infeed hopper, allowing this unit to easily process large branches, trees, and forked material. A wide variety of gasoline and diesel engine options are available ranging from 84.5 to 142 horsepower.
The Model 250XP has become the symbolic workhorse of the tree care industry, with over 20,000 units in operation. Because of its productivity, reliability and versatility, tree care organizations who have multiple chippers will typically have one or several of these machines in their fleet.
The productivity of the Model 250XP can be attributed to its powerful dual wheel feed system consisting of two 10-5/8 inch diameter x 19-1/2 inch wide feed wheels. These feed wheels are driven by two 32.7 CID hydraulic motors generating over 2,040 pounds of pulling power for each feed wheel and are situated in Bandit's patented and proven slide box feed system. This system drastically reduces the need to trim or reposition material while feeding it into the chipper. Chainsaw work and operator fatigue is drastically reduced. A fast feed rate of 120 feet per minute can easily keep two people busy feeding it. Material is fed and chipped at 45-degree angle to the chipper disc, also making it effective at rapidly slicing and shearing through woody materials. If your chipping operation is consistently chipping larger diameter material, we recommend that you give the Model 250XP a try today.
The approximate weight of this unit, depending upon selected options, is 6,800 pounds. This includes the durable 40 inch diameter by 2 inch thick chipper disc with cupped throwers allowing it to capture and throw material out of the discharge at a high velocity, fully loading chip vans to their maximum capacity. Since the disc sits at a right angle to the feed wheels chipping larger diameter material will reduce vibration and fuel consumption when compared to smaller diameter drum-style chippers. The Model 250XP boasts a solid chassis construction using continuous steel welds for structural integrity as opposed to bolt-together techniques. Component weight is distributed and supported on a sturdy, balanced frame that provides the necessary physical reinforcement for chipping yet allowing the machine to be towed easily. The Model 250XP rides on a single 7,000 pound EZ lube Torflex axle, along with two 265/75R 16 inch tires.
The large fuel tank on the Model 250XP holds 40 gallons, and the hydraulic tank has 13 gallon capacity. The discharge on the Model 250XP can manually rotate 360 degrees and has an adjustable deflector for directional control of the broadcasted chips. Optional upgrades including a reversing auto feed system, swivel and height adjustable discharge options, hydraulic winch, and a hydraulic lift cylinder for simplifying your operation. Deluxe option packages and / or bundles are also available. A full palette of standard and custom paint colors give you the freedom to choose the look of your brand or company.
The Model 250XP, as with all Bandit chippers, is designed and equipped with operator safety in mind. Standard items that accommodate any chipper package include guards that cover all moving parts, engine disabling plugs, disc / drum locks, wooden push paddles, safety control bar, and other Bandit patented and patent pending devices such as the "last chance" cables. Also, all components on Bandit chippers are designed to be easily accessible to save time on routine maintenance schedules and to reduce downtime by being more serviceable out in the field. Thus, Bandit chippers have proven over time to be the best economical decision you can make for a long-term investment in a brush chipper.
